About Us

Amitabh has over 17 years of entrepreneurial and senior management experience in product management and business strategy and planning in software and wireless industry. He co-founded Cymbal Corporation in the USA. Cymbal Corporation was a global services company, providing systems integration and outsourcing solutions to its clients in telecom industry, which got sold to Patni Computer Systems for $68 million. Amitabh also served as Vice President, product management and operations, in Firsttofile. Before starting StudyPlaces.com he worked for Airwide Solutions as GM India. Amit is a SLOAN fellow and MS in management from Graduate Schools of Business, Stanford. He also holds a B.Tech degree from Punjab Engineering College (India) where he was the university silver medalist.

Pankaj is a veteran of the Silicon Valley and venture backed startup community. Before joining StudyPlaces.com, Pankaj headed strategic initiatives at Efficient Frontier, the world's largest Search Engine marketing agency. At Efficient Frontier, Pankaj was involved in new products initiatives, key partnerships management, and the company's expansion throughout the Asia Pacific region. Before joining Efficient Frontier, Pankaj worked with Plaxo, where he was involved in the exponential expansion of the company's contact management software. During Pankaj's time the software user base reached over 15 million. He was instrumental in the international expansion of Yodlee, where he created partnerships with global banks, telephone companies, and government agencies. Pankaj began his career at MicroStrategy as part of the company's core technology team.

Pankaj holds dual Bachelor's from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Vivek Gupta has over 6 years of work experience managing Business Analytics, Operations, Business Development, Finance and Strategy in renowned companies, such as American Express and Coca Cola before joining StudyPlaces.com as part of the initial team. His list of accolades does not end here. An MBA from IIM Bangalore, he was among the top 5% in his batch. Vivek also holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Delhi College of Engineering.

A man of many talents, he has been consistently contributing to the field of education as well. He has authored two highly effective books; one for MBA aspirants and the other on career options, titled “Crack the Cat” and “Be the CEO of your life”, respectively. He has also been an educationist in various institutions of repute.

Over the years, he has been the guiding light for many students, helping them to take the right career path. A versatile man with many passions, he spends his spare time solving analytical problems or on the cricket field.

Manpreet is a senior architect in Virgin Mobile. He has over 10 years of experience in web architecture, and managing critical operations. He is responsible for designing architecture of Virgin's operation and billing support systems.
