Many universities are offering MS program whereas they don’t have a PhD program in the same field in US Universities. There are universities you can apply as per their overall rankings and departmental strength and if you have a high cumulative score as per the admission requirements of the universities.
For students with a limited knowledge of the American system of education, rankings are one way to sort out over 3,500 institutions of higher education and select the ones to which they will apply. However, rankings can mislead students and cause them to choose inappropriate schools. The rankings themselves may be flawed and students may also depend too heavily upon them instead of considering other important factors when making their decisions. While lists can be quick and easy, they are not the best way to select a college.
