  • hello, I have a GRE score of 1500 and a TOEFL score of 118. I have applied for a PHD with a funding and tution waiver in USA.For my visa , how much money do I need to show in my bank account , in what form should it be i.e. liquid or an FD ,and for what period do I need to show the funds.

    You should have liquid funds (bank balance, fixed deposits, LIC policies, investment in govt securities, investment in company shares, jewellery) enough to take care of the first year of your studies and should have access to additional funds for subsequent years.
