  • hi..im deepthi n im pursuing PGDBA in HR through distance mode from Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning, pune. i have few doubts regarding my career. 1. Though i know its a reputed institute, im worried about the credibility of the degree since its a distance education one. i would like to know if they offer placements.if no, wat would be the career prospects after i finish the course? 2. i dont want to spend another 2 yrs on studies again. so are there any one year programs which can help me in getting a good job?Does doing a one year program related to finance help me in getting a better job? 3. i have heard a lot about CFA. wat is it? pls list any good unviersities which offer CFA in part-time mode? (i have 2 small kids.so i cannot go to a regular college.but i can attend the classes in weekends) hoping to get all my doubts cleared soon. thankyou.

    Students should not be worried about the credibility of degree from Symbiosis. Distance education courses from Symbiosis Center of Distance Learning are recognized.

    Symbiosis institute does provide placement assistance to students. For information regarding placements students should contact the institute directly.

    Students not interested in HR jobs can look for options in finance field too. There are many one year executive mba program in finance which students can pursue to make a career in finance.

    CFA (Chartered Fininancial Analyst) : Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is an international professional designation offered by the CFA Institute of USA (formerly known as AIMR) to financial analysts who complete a series of three examinations. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree (or equivalent), be in the final year of their bachelor's degree program, or have at least four years of qualified, professional work experience in order to take the exams. In order to become a "CFA Charterholder" candidates must pass all three exams, agree to comply with the code of ethics, pay member dues, and have four years of work experience deemed acceptable by the CFA Institute.

    CFA can be done part time from ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad.
