hi sir/madam I am preaparing for CAT and other MBA exams on my own.I am doing very well in english section and scoring a very good percintile also,on an average but because me being very weak in quant section my percintile goes down drastically. on average in have been scoring 50 percentile in the test series.can u please guide on how to go about things like how many questions to attempt in each section speciaaly quant and any other information u feel will be beneficial.i'l be really greatfull.

Students week in quants or any other section of CAT should give more effort in preparation for those subject. Though coaching can be very good option for systematic preparation, students not opting for coaching should try giving mock test and thoroughly analyze the result of the mock CAT test for identifying your strong and weak areas. Now follow a structured and organized approach to turn your weak points into your strength. Build mathematical proficiency. You should thoroughly work on the math problems of 10th and 11th standard. Follow the 3 times principle. Solve every question 3 times; first time would be the attempt, second would be a solution and finally for the purpose of revision. The 3 times principle would help you in understanding the concept better. Solve the questions which you think you can answer correctly. Leave complex questions for later. Remember time management is the key. Also in the first attempt, answer only those questions which would take less than a minute. Long and difficult questions should be reserved for later. Mark such questions and solve them after completing the simpler and less time consuming answers.
