Job scope after M.Pharma: A pharmacist is employed for manufacturing, distributing, retailing and dispensing drugs. Employment opportunities exist in hospitals, medical directorates; in inspecting and analysing drugs in the manufacturing units. There is wide scope in areas like teaching and research (particularly indigenous medicine). Further training is possible in specialized research institutes like the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. Many pharmacists are self-employed. Others work with pharmaceutical companies like Boots, Cipla Cadilla, Glaxo, Ranbaxy, etc. Opportunities and posts vary from company to company in an industry where pharmacists are usually employed in production and quality control, research and development, preparation of technical and medical information and in marketing. MBA for pharmacy graduates: To get into marketing, its advisable to crank the CAT or a good Management Institute as the best jobs in top firms these days are for pharmacists with a marketing background. The scope in the medicine industry is expanding due to the entry of multi-national companies into the Indian market. There is a growing demand for pharmacists in the drug and pharmaceutical industry, drug control administration, laboratories engaged in research, drug testing laboratories and pharmacy colleges. Self - employment has much scope like setting up one's own chemist / druggist store, distribution firm for analytical laboratories, drug farm for producing raw materials and growing herbs and plants. Job saturation should not be of concern in pharmaceutical industry as this is one industry where job is never going to end till existence of human beings.
