Amidst the fear to lose their ‘deemed university’ status, the top officials of the 16 Tamil Nadu universities have decided to individually move the Supreme Court (SC),  seeking a show-cause notice and a three-year rectification window before a final decision is taken.

Dr Ishari K Ganesh, chancellor of Vel’s University said, "After the verdict, we would individually file a petition seeking a show-cause notice and a three-year period  for rectification of the anomalies. None of the universities has received any communication on what was wrong with them.”

The chancellor of a blacklisted deemed university said that the UGC review committee report that was in favour of the institutions should also be submitted along with  Taak Force committee report.
The vice-chancellor of the Vel Tech University was surprised over the institute being blacklisted despite the UGC review being in favour of the university.
