Applied Psychology is the study of the basic principles of psychology together with the application of these principles to various real-world problems. The curriculum emphasizes attaining a broad understanding of psychology and research methods. The applied courses consist of upper division classes in various specialty areas such as human factors, human-computer interaction, aviation psychology, training and industrial/organizational psychology. The major provides excellent preparation for further work at the graduate level as well as preparation for careers demanding the knowledge and skills emphasized in the program.
