Australian Catholic University (ACU National) was established on 1st January 1991, when four Catholic tertiary institutions joined hands with each other. This public university embraces students of all nationalities and cultures making it one of the most sought-after colleges for overseas students. It has a total strength of over 14,000 students including 2,500 international students coming from 85 different countries.

Australian Catholic University is an associate of the Association of Commonwealth Universities and the International Federation of Catholic Universities. The degrees, certifications and diplomas awarded by the university are internationally recognised. It proviedes extensive perspective in research, teaching and learning. The University’s study groups are small in number thereby ensuring an environment of personalized learning in a safe and modern campus.

 

Ballarat Campus

The Ballarat Campus of the Australian Catholic University has a two-storey mansion and momentous gardens which were previously owned by the Cornish miner Cyrus Retallac in the 1880's. It was later converted into the Aquinas Training College. At the end of 1990 it was included into the operations of the AUC University. The Ballarat Campus provides education in the fields of nursing, educational leadership, religious education, theology and philosophy.
