Situated in Adelaide, Australian Lutheran College (ALC) is a tertiary-level education provider and serves the ministry of the Lutheran Church of Australia that aims to educate, prepare and train students for church services such as teachers, church workers and pastors. With its roots in 1840s, ALC is known for its involvement in theological education related to Lutherans in the country so that people of the post-modern world can understand the real spirituality of the Christian faith.
The three independent schools - the Luther Seminary, the Lutheran School of Theology and the Lutheran Teachers College came together under the Lutheran Church of Australia and were finally renamed as Australian Lutheran College in 2004. Australian Lutheran College believes in the gospels of Jesus Christ and accepts the Old and New Testaments of Bible as God's words along with the writings of the Book of Concord of 1580.
