Graduates of this course will be able to gain a trade qualification allowing them to be licensed to select, install, commission, maintain, fault-find and repair refrigeration and air conditioning components and systems in domestic, commercial and industrial premises. The qualification will also equip them with skills to undertake project management as well as to establish and manage their own businesses in the electro technology industry. The course curriculum will include the following components:

• Install/maintain piping and tubing
• Install electrical/electronic apparatus
• Maintain and repair apparatus/circuits
• Disconnect and reconnect fixed wired electrical equipment 1000Vac/1500Vdc
• Attach flexible cords and plug to electrical equipment 250 volt
• Attach flexible cables and plugs of apparatus and circuits
• Undertake commissioning of apparatus and circuits
• Test apparatus and circuits
• Diagnose and rectify faults in apparatus and circuits
• Locate and rectify faults in electrical equipment 1K Vac/1.5KVdc by procedures (motors)
• Attend to breakdown
• Monitor energy usage in electro technology context

• Successful completion of Year 12 or its equivalent or, if less, a demonstrated ability to succeed in the chosen course

• A satisfactory outcome of interview with ANIBT authorized staff or representatives
