The OMS candidates are treated as Open/General category candidate in the
entire admission process.
Candidates who are sons/daughters of Defence service personnel are eligible,
if:
Candidate is a son/daughter of ex-service personnel who is domiciled in Maharashtra State, or
Candidate is a son/daughter of active service personnel who is domiciled in Maharashtra State, or
Candidate is a son/daughter of active service personnel who is transferred to Maharashtra State but is not domiciled in Maharashtra State.
Candidate is a son/daughter of active service personnel, who is not domiciled
in Maharashtra State but his/her family is stationed in Maharashtra State under
the provision of retention of family accommodation at the last duty station, on
the grounds of children?s education. Such candidate should have appeared and
passed the HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary
and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination from school/college
situate in the State Maharashtra. This provision is not available to the
children of civilian staff who is working/who has worked with the Indian Defence
Services.
Maharashtra State candidates who are Physically Handicapped and have appeared
& obtained a non-zero score in the MHT-CET are eligible to seek admission
against seats reserved for them. Candidates suffering from any one of the
following disabilities are considered Physically Handicapped
Candidates who are visually impaired or Blind (type P1),
Candidates who are speech & hearing impaired or Deaf & Dumb (type P2),
Candidates who have orthopedic disorders, learning disabilities, Dyslexia,
Dyscalculia, Dysgraphica and are Spastic (type P3).
A candidate is considered eligible for admission to the seats of State quota,
if they fulfill one of the following criteria:
Type-A are Maharashtra State Candidates, who have passed SSC (Std. X) and HSC
(Std.XII) examination from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State.
Type-B are Maharashtra Domiciled Candidates, who have passed SSC (Std. X)
and/or HSC (Std.XII) examination from a recognized institution outside
Maharashtra state.
Type-C are sons and daughters of central Govt./Govt. of India Undertaking
employee who are posted in Maharashtra and reported for duty before the last
date for submission of application form. Candidate should have passed SSC (Std.
X) and/or HSC (Std. XII) examination from a recognized institution outside
Maharashtra state.
Type-D are sons and daughters of Maharashtra State Govt./Maharashtra State
Govt. undertaking employee who is transferred from other state of Maharashtra
and reported for duty in Maharashtra or returned from deputation to other state
back to Maharashtra and reported for duty in Maharashtra before the last date
for submission of application form. Candidate must have passed SSC (Std. X)
and/or HSC (Std.XII) examination from a recognized institution outside
Maharashtra state.
Type-E are Maharashtra State Candidates, who are sons and daughters of
Maharashtra State Govt./Maharashtra State Govt. undertaking employee/Central
Govt./govt. of India Undertaking employee who is transferred to a place in
another University area and the candidate intends to shift to the University
area where the Father/Mother is posted.
Candidate must have passed SSC (Std. X) and/or HSC (Std.XII) examination from a
recognized institution in Maharashtra State.
Claiming facility under Type B, C, D & E is optional and it is binding for the
candidates to produce all the documentary proofs along with the application form
to claim the facility. Candidate can claim only one type of candidature while
submitting the application form.
A candidate is considered eligible for admission to the seats of Maharashtra
State and Home University seats, only if they meet one of following criteria:
Type-A (Maharashtra State candidate): Candidates who have passed SSC (Std. X)
And HSC (Std. XII) examination from a recognised institution in Maharashtra
State. Such a candidate is eligible for 70% Home University seats in the area of
jurisdiction of the place from where the candidate has passed HSC examination.
Type-B (Domicile status): Candidates who have passed SSC (Std. X) and/or HSC
(Std. XII) examination from the recognised institution situated outside the
State of Maharashtra but their father, mother or husband is domiciled in the
state of Maharashtra. Such a candidate is eligible for 70% Home University seats
in the area of jurisdiction of the place that falls in the State of Maharashtra
and whose authority has issued Domicile Certificate.
Type-C (Sons and daughters of central Govt. /Govt. of India Undertaking
employee): Candidates who have passed SSC (Std. X) and /or HSC (Std. XII)
examination from the recognized institution situate outside the State of
Maharashtra and are children of GOI or GOI undertaking employees who have been
transferred or posted at a place of work located in the State of Maharashtra.
Such parents must have joined the duty before last date of Option/Preference
Form. Such a candidate is eligible for 70% Home University seats in the area of
jurisdiction of the place that falls in the State of Maharashtra, where his or
her parent is posted.
Type-D (Sons and daughters of Maharashtra State Govt./ Maharashtra State
Govt. undertaking employee who reported for duty in Maharashtra State after
completion of deputation period outside Maharashtra State): Candidates who have
passed SSC (Std. X) and /or HSC (Std. XII) examination from the recognized
institution situate outside the State of Maharashtra and are children of
employees who have joined the service since beginning at a place situated
outside the State of Maharashtra but have been posted/transferred/deputed at a
place of work located in the State of Maharashtra. Such parents must have joined
the duty before last date of Option/Preference Form.
This category also includes children of Government of Maharashtra or its
Undertaking employees, who have been transferred to a place situated outside the
State of Maharashtra on deputation or who have been returned to the State of
Maharashtra after initial transfer/deputation.
Candidates of this category are Home University 70% seats in the University area
under the jurisdiction of the place where the parent is posted in the State of
Maharashtra or the place where the parent was posted in the State of Maharashtra
prior to his or her transfer to a place situated outside State of Maharashtra
Type-E (Sons and daughters of Maharashtra State Govt./Maharashtra State Govt.
undertaking employee/Central Govt./Central Govt. undertaking employee who is
transferred to a place in another university area and the candidate intends to
shift to the university area where the Father/Mother is posted): Candidates who
have passed SSC (Std. X) and HSC (Std.XII) examination from a recognised
institution in Maharashtra State and whose father/mother is a State Govt./State
Govt. Undertaking/Central Govt./Central Govt. undertaking employee. The parent
must have been transferred to a place in another University area from the place
of passing of qualifying examination of his/her child in Maharashtra and
reported for duty before the last date for submission of application form. Such
candidate is eligible for Home University 70% seats in the University area under
the jurisdiction of the new place where his or her parent is posted.
Type-F (Maharashtra-Karnataka Disputed Border Area Candidates): Candidates
will only be considered for 30% OHU seats of Maharashtra State of CAP. These
candidates will also be eligible for the seats remaining vacant in Unaided
Institutes after the CAP round and for additional round of Govt., Govt. Aided,
University Departments and University Managed institutes.
Candidate opting as Type E candidate will lose the opportunity as Type A
candidate. If any candidate applies for both as Type A and Type E candidate,
then his/her claim as Type E candidate will be considered for preparation of
Home University Area Merit list.
Outside Maharashtra State candidates are the candidates who are Indian
nationals, do not satisfy any of the conditions mentioned above and have passed HSC (Std, XII) examination from an institute situated outside State of
Maharashtra within India.
It is optional for the students to claim facility under Type B,C,D,E & F.
Candidate can claim only one type of candidature and are only entitled to
claim for one of these seats.
Eligible OMS candidates shall be considered for Admission to institute-level
seats as well as against the vacant seats existing after the Centralized
Admission Process in Unaided Private Institutes.
At Bapurao Deshmukh College of Engineering, 5% relaxation of marks in PCM in
HSSC is allowed for backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State
only.
At Kolhapur Institute of Technology?s College of Engg, NRI Seats are also
available.
At Manoharbhai Patel Institute of Engineering & Technology, NRI seats are also
available.
At National Power Training Institute, 5% relaxation of marks in PCM in HSSC is
allowed for backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only.
At Sinhgad College of Architecture, Reserved category students from
Maharashtra are allowed 5% relaxation in marks and need only 45% marks in PCM.
At College of Architecture, 2 seats are reserved for NRI students
