The Banaras Hindu University was established in 1916 in association with the Bar Council of India. The University is the first of its kind in the country to introduce the class/ problem method in teaching methodology at both LL.B. and LL.M. levels. The largest residential University in Asia, BHU enshrines within 14 Faculties, 3 Institutes and 124 teaching departments giving guidance and carrying out researches in diverse disciplines. The University's "Faculty of Law", established in 1923, has an expert team of mentors who have been giving every possible support to the students. The Law School prides to be one the six Universities in India to start Clinical Legal Services in India. The LL.B courses are modernized and updated keeping in mind the demands of the changing times. For the modernization of its LL.B. and LL.M. curriculum the School constantly stresses in the expansion of teaching, research, redesigning of courses and enhancement... Banaras Hindu University (Faculty of Law)The Law Faculty provides separate hostels for undergraduate and post graduate students. The under graduates stay in Dr Bhagwan Das Hostel, while the post graduation persuing students stay in Dr Ambedkar Hostel. The under graduates are provided with twin-sharing rooms. Since the capacity of the hostel is eighty students per year so the hostel- entry is based on the entrance exam's merit list. The students can avail the following facilities in these hostels:
