Brunel University has been highly ranked in the the Teaching Quality Assessment (TQA). Most of its subjects have received 20 or more scores, out of a possible 24. However, its student satisfaction ranking done by National Student Survey (NSS) has taken a hit in the recent past, perhaps due to change in its emphasis from teaching quality to research work and four year long status as a building site. Still, Brunel has managed to hold the 50th rank in list of 122 UK institutions in The Guardian Good University Guide 2007/8 and 51st in the The Times Higher league table 2007/8.
Brunel University was ranked 13 by the Sunday Times league table in terms of highest average graduate starting salaries in UK. Most of its Arts and Social Sciences subjects have received scores between 3a-4 in the recent RAE exercise while the Physical and Applied Sciences programmes have been ranked 5. Brunel University- Uxbridge Campus
Uxbridge campus of Brunel University is situated in a prime location, which is easily accessible by bus, tain or taxi. At the western edge of London in south-east England, there are several bus routes that will drop you close to the campus, which is situated on the edge of the London Underground network and just a short drive away from the M4, M25 and M40.
Studying in the flagship campus of the University, Uxbridgers can avail a wide range of facilities, amenities and services, such as the Lecture Centre, which has lecture theatres and where exhibitions and seminars are held; the modernistic Bannerman Centre with an elegant cafe that offers outdoor seating arrangement and a fully air-conditioned auditorium known as the Howell Theatre that can house 425 people and boasts of latest audio visual equipment. There is 24-hour security and a medical centre on campus too along with mini-market, pharmacy and bank services.
There is a fully functional Hospitality suite and Food Hall in the distinctive Hamilton Centre building, with over 1,500 en suite bedrooms. The professional Hospitality Management team here regularly hosts catering and hosting services for events ranging from small gatherings and seminars to large functions, dinner dances and banquets. Students can apply for free car parking and use offer support services including photocopying and use of fax. Recreational and entertainment facilities include a licensed bar, fitness suite and sports facilities.
Previously, Runnymede campus used to house the design faculty of Brunel University and conduct courses in Product Design and Industrial Design. When it was sold in 2004, the School was shifted to the main campus at Uxbridge. Brunel also sold its 14 acre Twickenham Campus site, situated on the bank of the River Thames to a renowned residential-complex builder, Octagon. These funds were later invested in the development of teaching, research and learning facilities at Uxbridge Campus and create a "Centre for Excellence" in academic arena, in West London.
