The BSc in Sport Sciences program offers understanding of the scientific basis of sport performance and a wide array of factors influencing sport and physical education, such as personal and social behaviour and impact of private and public issues. The Times Good University Guide ranked Sport Sciences at Brunel as 4th in the UK while The Guardian University Guide ranked it 6th in the United Kingdom.
The multimillion pound sports and fitness complex offers the best sports facilities in the UK and includes extensive indoor athletics, squash courts, basketball and netball courts and a six-lane all-weather 400 metre track. QAA has ranked the teaching standards of this course as ‘Excellent’. The Sports Sciences courses have earned international reputation and offers sport scholarships and flexible arrangements for exceptional high level performers such as Olympic athletes. The students achieve up to 100 international sporting honours every year.
