This program is research oriented. Students will be trained in the following areas- • Cardiovascular Pharmacology • Adrenal receptor on vascular smooth muscle • Pulmonary hypertension • Cardiac ischemic-reperfusion injury • Membrane ion channel pharmacology • Postreceptor signal transduction • Pharmacokinetics • Molecular Pharmacology Students will be expected to gain knowledge and conduct extensive research on the subject of- • Mechanism of Post-Muscarine receptor transduction of human uterus smooth muscle • Properties of potassium channels in glial cells and the research of protective effects of drugs during acute brain injury • Study on the function and genetic expression of Ryanodine receptor in PASMC in pulmonary artery hypertension of rat.
