Christchurch Polytechnic or CPIT is one of New Zealand's largest tertiary institutions educating about 30,000 students per annum. It has four campuses; three in Christchurch and one in Auckland, known as City Campus (Madras Street), Sullivan Avenue, Seven Oaks (York Street) and Auckland Campus (Mt Eden). Christchurch employs approximately 2000 staff and selects its teaching staff on their education, achievement and enthusiasm. CPIT has nearly 100 years of experience providing tertiary education to graduate level and offers many qualifications that are registered on the National Qualification Framework. It provides up to the minute training in state of the art facilities. Its programs are designed to include internships, work experience and practical hands-on training. At CPIT, there is an emphasis on applied learning, where theoretical education is combined with hands-on approach. Its flexible study options include part-time, during the day, evening and at the weekend study programs.... CPIT has many sources of funding to assist students including over 80 scholarships and prizes, given in the form of awards for academic excellence, through to specific industry scholarships and scholarships to assist those who would not be able to afford study otherwise. Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology (CPIT) is committed to recognizing the achievements made by students, so appropriate qualifications and other awards are issued upon successful completion of programmes and, where appropriate, individual courses. Under delegation from NZQA (New Zealand Qualifications Authority), the New Zealand Polytechnic Programmes Committee has accredited this Institute to teach all the national courses it offers.
