The academic calendar is divided into three terms - Fall, Spring and Summer. Fall Term starts in early September and ends in December. After winter holidays, the Spring Term starts in January and ends in early May. Summer Term starts in May and ends in mid of August. Orientation classes are conducted for new entrants before the beginning of Fall and Spring Terms.
Eligibility criteria
All the applications received by Columbia University go through a thorough review and though the process is highly selective, there is no cut-off GPA or test score as such. Besides the academic record, the Admission Committe focuses on extracurricular activities, interests and hobbies of an applicant, summer experiences, letters of evaluation, personal statement essay and short answer responses.
