Offered at Level 5, Diploma of Fashion Design graduates can get absorbed in the industry at fashion retailing and buying positions,
merchandising, costuming and stylists, designers and pattern makers. They may move on further study options at Massey University and St Martins Fashion
College in London. The students learn making patterns using computers, garment and millinery designing and construction, learn about fabrics, yarn, fibers and
the textile industry and use drawing and fabric printing using a multitude of techniques, colors, materials and textures.
Along with practical skills and expression of creativity, students also learn project management and technical skills such as PAD (pattern assisted design) software and digital technology. They learn marketing and business skills and design for D&A’s annual Fashion and Visual Show, where their work is displayed to industry audience and prospective clients and employers.
