Bachelor of Information Technology prepares students for careers in Information Technology, Computer Security and Wireless Computing. The program focuses on the practical and theoretical dimensions of IT and includes three major streams of study. Areas of specialization include Information Technology, Computer Security and Mobile Computing. Students may also select a second major chosen from areas like Computer Science, Software Engineering, Internetworking Technologies (CISCO), Network Administration and Design (MCSE) and Records Management.

All students enrolled in the Bachelor of Information Technology study the following foundation units:

• Computer Fundamentals
• Systems Analysis
• Applied Communications
• Computer Security
• Operating Systems
• Systems and Database Design

In the second year, students embark on their Major programs. Students may complete one or two Major programs within the School of Computer and Information Science.

The students applying for admission to the course should have completed 12 years of formal school education.
