Gateshead College became an independent Further Education (FE) Corporation in 1992. The College believes that learning is for all, and in so believing, strives to enable individuals, businesses and organisations to succeed through learning and skills. Gateshead College is the sixth largest further education college in the North East.

The College educates 15,000 students per annum. There are a range of courses on offer, from entry level right up to a Degree. Most of the College staff lecturers are industry experts in their field.
