Green River Community College started as a program of adult evening education in 1945, as part of the Auburn School District. The School was approved to become a community college in 1963 and began technical and professional programs in September 1964. It was originally located near the Auburn Boeing Plant, but the following year the campus was relocated to its current location on Lea Hill. GRCC has since opened satellite campuses in Enumclaw, Washington and Kent, Washington.The Green River Community College Foundation provides resources to assist Green River Community College achieve educational excellence.

Green River Community College (Main Campus)
The Green River Community College has three campuses at Auburn, Enumclaw and Kent.
GRCC at the Auburn Campus is located on 186 acres of tall trees in a park - like setting and is know for its safe , friendly and peaceful study environment. Its friendly and attractive campus provides the serious student with a quiet, natural environment in which to study. The students can live and study in a safe, family-oriented community during the week, and take advantage of city life in Seattle on the weekends. The students can enjoy spending time in great restaurants, shopping, world-class sports, and a variety of cultural activities. The innumerable facilities offered to the students are:

The GreenRiver Community College's Enumclaw campus is an extension of the Green River Community College campus, located in downtown Enumclaw, 15 miles south of Auburn. The community-based Enumclaw campus offers a personalized environment to students seeking degrees or personal enrichment, and to businesses who send employees to the campus for business training. Student services and programs such as student orientations, registration, advising, placement testing, and women's programs are also offered at various times throughout the quarter. The Enumclaw campus offers a variety of credit and non-credit classes serving the needs of the Enumclaw community and surrounding plateau area. Instructional programs include: - Credit core classes,

- "Running Start" for high school students,
