The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has formulated new standards of English proficiency for air traffic controllers and flight crew members for aviation safety. This PAIFA program is ICAO compliant. High Flyers represents PAIFA in India. The program can be opted through distance learning blended with on-site classroom learning method as well as online.

However, blended learning model is highly recommended for obtaining full benefits of the program. The course includes initial screening of candidate’s competency level in aviation English, followed by a customized self-study program to enhance listening, reading and speaking skills of a candidate, increase their vocabulary and improve their pronunciation and comprehension skills.

At the end of the program, applicants take the ICAO Level 4 English proficiency exam. The training moves through five levels of skills in English – from Basic to Advanced. The lessons have been designed by aviation professionals and linguistic experts. The emphasis is laid on aviation-related topics such as:

• Aviation Physiology,
• Flight Safety,
• Medicine, and
• Meteorology.

Actual ATC tapes recorded in control towers are used to practice speaking and listening to pilot communication. Besides Aviation Language, students are also exposed to a variety of accents throughout these lessons. Trainees have the option to learn at their own pace and at their own convenience. The progress of online students is fully tracked by the experts. They can hear and repeat language courses as many times as they like to get well-versed with ICAO vocabulary and phrases and be comfortable with the language and different pronunciations.

On-site sessions help the students to get in touch with PAN AM International Flight Academy certified trainers and practice listening and speaking skills extensively live classroom sessions. Classes are quite interactive and testing and evaluation takes place on a regular basis. The candidates are prepared especially for oral portion of the exam through repeated practices in a proctored setting.
