Post Graduate Program in Public Management and Policy is a full-time residential program in public management and policy with a sharp focus on governance and policy formulation and implementation, financial regulation, infrastructure development, and public enterprise management. The program builds upon the excellence of IIMA in management teaching and research and its considerable experience in policy research and consultancy to take management to the domains of public policy, services provision and regulation, and management of public organizations and enterprises. It has been designed to sharpen the skills and broaden the perspectives of civil servants, managers of government, public enterprises, NGOs and executives of private sector firms engaged in public management. The program has strong foundations in the conceptual and analytical dimensions of management and policy and the curriculum is also designed to build on the experience of participants.

PGP-PMP is a rigorous program in public management and policy with about 800 contact or equivalent hours of engagement. The program has three modules – a core management (CM) module that would be equivalent to a similar module in any leading international one- year executive management program, a core public management and policy (CPMP) module, and electives leading to concentration in a number of areas. In addition, an international attachment/ exchange module provides the necessary exposure to working at senior levels in public policy and management. The years of experience of IIMA in research and consulting for governments, regulatory bodies, and the public sector are being brought to bear upon to offer this unique executive program.

MBA - General and Others

The candidates applying to gain admission to the course should fulfill one of the following criteria:

• Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline and should have at least seven years of work experience a supervisory / managerial / administrative position
• Candidates with legislative experience are also eligible to apply provided they are 27 or more years old and have one year or more of experience as a minister at the central level or as a member of parliament or 2 years or more of experience as minister at the state level or as member of the legislative assembly / council; or have served for 5 years or more as councilor of municipal corporation or of zilla parishad. All candidates would have to have bachelor’s degree without exception
•  All candidates should have a GMAT/GRE score. Those without GMAT/GRE/CAT will be short listed on the basis of application rating for a specially designed test of IIMA to be conducted simultaneously at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, and Kolkata
