Course Name:Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Aided Management (PGDCM) Course Description:This is a full-time, two year residential Program with an emphasis on use of Information Technology (IT) in management. The PGDCM program has been designed to introduce students to IT-applications in business and industry and provide them with an integrated perspective of different functional areas of management. The programme consists of a core curriculum (compulsory courses, mostly in the first year), a summer internship (compulsory industry training between first and second year), and elective courses (optional courses in the second year). The core curriculum of PGDCM develops essential skills and knowledge in the areas of economics, organization and behavior, finance and accounting, management control, marketing, human resource management, information systems and quantitative methods. After successfully completing the first year requirements, the students undertake summer training of up to ten weeks at the managerial level. Students analyze and offer solutions to specific managerial problems under the guidance of a faculty member as well as a manager in the host company. Case studies, lectures, group and individual exercises, class projects, student presentations, simulation games, are used in different courses. Many courses bring in industry experts to integrate classroom learning with industry practice.
