The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) - Delhi, established in January 27, 1959, is one of the seven primary Institutes of Technology in India which aims to achieve excellence in higher training, engineering and technology and research and development in science. Later on, the Institute was accorded the status of a deemed university with the authority to decide its own academic policy, conduct its own examinations and award its own degrees. For close cooperation in the field of research and teaching, the Institute has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with foreign universities, research institutes and industrial organizations. The students frequently participate in national and international collaborative programmes in the field of scientific and technological developments. Presently, various collaborative research projects are in operation with the institutions in Norway, Sweden, Austria, Netherlands, UK, France, Israel, Italy, Germany and USA....
