Kasturba Medical College - Manipal University

Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal was established in June 30, 1953 and was granted recognition from the Medical Council of India. It was soon followed by Recognitions from the General Medical Council of Great Britain and the Malaysian Medical Council.

Back then the college had started with only a pre-clinical section at Manipal while the students had to go to Mangalore for their clinical training. However, when the clinical program was initiated at Manipal in 1969, a full-fledged independent college came into being.

It is the first college in the private sector and ranks among the leading medical colleges in the country today. Over the years students from more than 44 countries have graduated from KMC and are practicing medicine worldwide.
