London School of Business and Computing was
founded in 2004 with a view to providing education in business and computing.
The School offers a variety of programmes, namely the External programme of
University of London (Distance Learning), Association of Business Executives
(ABE), Association of Certified Chartered Accounts (ACCA), Chartered Institute
of Management Accountants (CIMA) and NVQ courses.
Founded as an
independent college for further and higher education, with the core belief of
access to education, LSBC believes that, with guidance, every individual may
develop the ability to earn knowledge and transmit it to others. The world of
education, the School feels, should be free from bias of any kind. In keeping
with this thought, it allows every individual to derive the benefit of
education, irrespective of their cultural background. Bias-free education
prepares students for participation in a multicultural society.

The LSBC
Student Work Placement Scheme is designed to provide students with an insight
into the real work place of their chosen profession, thus helping them to become
more employable. LSBC has working arrangements with many employers in and around
London, who wish to give students apprenticeship opportunities. The placements
are available in a range of fields such as business, media, law, hospitality and
marketing. The School has the following affiliations and accreditations:
The British Accreditation Council for Independent Further and Higher
Education (BAC)
Association of Business Executives (ABE)
Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI)
British Computer Society (BCS)
Oxford, Cambridge and RSA Examinations
Organization for Tourism, Hospitality Management (OTHM)
London School of Business and Computing (Main Campus)
LSBC is located at the Business Design Centre, which
is close to the Angel Underground Station. It has excellent classrooms, a
library, and a computer laboratory. The student body and faculty currently
represent over 70 countries. Being at the central location in London, the
students at LSBC can enjoy all the diversity that a life in London
affords.
The student's accommodation is a vital part of their college
life. At LSBC, the staffs are on-hand from the moment students apply. The LSBC
accommodation bureau (LSBC/AB) arranges accommodation for students on request.
LSBC arranges two forms of accommodations for students; accommodation with a
host family and private accommodation arranged through letting
agents.
Food, entertainment, accommodation, and other day-to-day costs
are lower than in other parts of the city. The college is close to the famous
Brick Lane, which is an excellent place to find good and cheap Indian curry
restaurants. At the junction with Hanbury Street, there's a cluster of
particularly excellent restaurants, in an excellent multicultural
atmosphere.
The Brick Lane Festival is an annual event held in September,
focusing on the multicultural aspects the neighbourhood has to offer. Students
will find a craft market, live music, stilt walkers, fun fair rides and a
carnival procession. The college is close to a few of London's most important
places of worships. Churches, Mosques, Hindu temples, Sikh Gurdwaras and
Buddhist temples are all within reach from the college.
