The Master of Telecommunications Engineering provides candidates with a thorough grounding for both the theoretical and practical aspects of advanced telecommunications engineering. Topics include the fundamentals of networking protocols and distributed systems, system security, underlying network technologies, mobile IP, high performance networking, distributed programming for internet applications and network management.

This program is designed for IT and engineering professionals working in the field of information and communication technology who wish to update and/or hone their skills in telecommunications technologies (e.g. wireless, optical), networking technology, and telecommunication systems.

Entry Requirements

:

The candidates applying for admission require a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline from an Australian University (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 2.5 out of 4.0. The English language requirements for foreign students are as follows:

  • A minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall, with 6.0 in each section
  • A minimum TOEFL paper based score of 580 overall, with 53 Listening, 52 Reading, 59 Structure/ Written Expression and 5.0 TWE
  • A minimum TOEFL computer based score of 237 overall, with 19 Listening, 19 Reading, 25 Structure/Writing
  • A minimum TOEFL internet based score of 92 overall, with 18 Listening, 17 Reading, 22 Writing, 22 Speaking
