The Melbourne Business School Executive MBA (EMBA) program is an innovative international experience designed for senior managers– those with 10+ years of work experience, including significant experience at a managerial level and a track record of professional career progress. It offers an experience like no other, through:

  • a unique structure of four one-month fully residential intensive modules over 14 months
  • separating study from work and personal commitments (participants return to their workplaces and apply their learning between the modules, with no study requirements during the intervals)
  • a global ‘classroom’ - Australia, USA, Germany and China
  • a demanding, exciting and creative program with a diverse range of learning methods
  • leading faculty from around the world
  • a true executive peer network of like-minded professionals.

The EMBA program is completed in 4 fully residential modules, each of 4 weeks duration, over a 14 month period. The program is intensive.

Modules 1, 3 & 4 are conducted at MBS in Melbourne, Australia. Module 2 is conducted in USA (Kellogg School of Management), Germany (WHU) and China (MBS).

There is no formal study in between modules, students return home and to their workplaces during the 3-4 month interval between modules.


The tuition fee for the program is A$96 000. This fee includes tuition, text books and study notes, accommodation and most meals on class days for the four modules, along with Melbourne University, Kellogg School of Management and WHU fees.

The fee does not include travel costs for associated with the international module, such as airfares to USA, Germany and China, airport transfers, visa(s) charges and travel insurance. Students are responsible for the cost of their meals during free time throughout the program and some meals on class days during the international module. Other incidental expenses incurred during the modules such as telephone, laundry, car parking, alcohol and other personal charges must be covered by the student. Students located outside Melbourne are also responsible for their travel costs to and from Melbourne for the three MBS based modules.

Fees are paid in two instalments: one month prior to commencing the program, and one month prior to commencing module 3. A non-refundable deposit of A$2,000 is payable upon acceptance of our offer and this amount is deducted from the first instalment payment.

The Executive MBA (EMBA) program is an innovative international experience designed for senior managers who already have the qualifications, skills and experience commensurate with the challenges of the course. Successful applicants are likely to possess:

  • an undergraduate degree. Prospective students without formal tertiary qualifications should contact the EMBA office to discuss their options
  • a minimum of 10 years full-time work experience gained after graduating from an undergraduate degree, including significant experience at a managerial level
  • a demonstrable record of professional achievement
