Catering to the need of manufacturing professionals in the industry, first two semesters of the course is dedicated to theoretical learning and last two semesters to practical learning, where all students have to undertake industry-sponsored project work. Since the project work takes place exclusively in related business and industries, students get a lot of hands-on experience as they come face-to-face with real-life problems in industry and service organisations.

The Masters program in Manufacturing Technology offers advanced level of understanding and theoretical and practical exposure to students. The students of the program also learn about use of computers and latest technology in conventional areas such as manufacture like CAD, CAM, CIM and FMS. The graduates of the program are also well-versed in Management, Communication, Maintenance, TQM & TPM with a focus on manufacturing processes of different types.

Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering

Candidates for M. Tech programs are selected on the basis of their GATE scores. Those applying for Manufacturing Technology program must have completed their BE./BTech degree in Production or Mechanical Engineering with at least 60% marks for the General Category and passing scores for candidates of SC/ST categories. Students who have appeared for the final year exams and waiting for their mark sheet can also apply, and need to attach their provisional certificates with the application while applying.
