As the name suggests, Equine Sports Science trains its graduates in managing, taking care of and improving the performance of the horses used as leisure animals for various sports. The students also receive training as equine athletes in this program. The curriculum of the course carefully integrates scientific knowledge with the industry-specific practical and investigative skills.

This undergraduate course stimulates critical thinking and problem solving abilities of the students and helps them to understand the physiological and psychological principles of sports science and their application in the fields of dressage, eventing, endurance and show jumping. Majority of the students enrolled in the course aim to know more about competition horse training or clear the world-famous exam of British Horse Society Instructor (BHSI).

The Brackenhurst equestrian team is highly skilled and experienced. The famous Equestrian centre is renowned as the best training facility of its kinds in the UK. The facilities available here include a horse walker, round pen, solarium, crew yards, weighbridge, treatment stocks, a 60m x 40m indoor school and a floodlit outdoor arena of the same size. Its stables can house 60 horses at a time. Students are allowed to bring their own horses here.
