Prime was launched in 1992 at Hyderabad, by four IIM graduates. Initially involved with training IIM aspirants, the Institute has since diversified into several other areas – competitive entrance examination at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with many centers across the country. Prime is now one of the leading institutions nationally, preparing students for the Law entrance examination and NIFT with its alumni placed in the top notch Institutes. The Institute has a Research and Course Design department, for developing and updating the curriculum to keep in step with the changes.
The training program includes personalized classroom training supported by class tests, quizzes; sectional and mock tests simulating real life exams. The faculty consists of experienced, well-qualified instructors who are specialists in their fields. The Prime campus is situated at Elgin Road, Kolkata. There is also a second branch of the Institute at Salt Lake City. The campus provides students with all required facilities which would help them secure better scores in the entrance exam they wish to sit for. Some of the facilities provided are:
- Basic Reference Materials- The coaching is supplemented by exhaustive course material. The content development team consists of veterans preparing course material for various competitive exams. Examination trends are followed regularly and analysed systematically, resulting in top quality course material.
The reference materials provided deal with vocabulary, verbal ability, reading comprehension, verbal reasoning and grammar. The materials train students in quantitative ability, analytical ability, general knowledge, current affairs and essay writing techniques. Informative CDs are also provided. - Comprehensive Testing and Mock-Testing- Consistent and focused practice tests are provided, which include tests covering all the different patterns of each section for intensive practice to the students. Comprehensive full-length tests covering all test areas, along the patterns of the actual tests are provided. Students will get a taste of what to expect in the final exam. The mock-tests ensure that students become mentally tough. Students are also provided with a general overview and specifics regarding test taking strategies.
- Feedback- Performance in mock-tests is analysed and students are given information on where they stand. Strengths and weaknesses are identified and areas needing improvement are pointed out. They are also provided with inputs on interactive and communication skills, contribution of ideas, initiative and leadership.
