The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) Punjab, was established
under the Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006 and is registered with University Grants
Commission (UGC), New Delhi. It is a fully residential University established
for the development and advancement of legal education. In order to meet the
challenges of globalisation and liberalisation a Centre for Excellence in legal
education, RGNUL was established at Patiala in 2006.
The University aims to serve the society through reforms in legal services
through professional competent lawyers, inquisitive researchers, able
administrators, conscientious judicial officers in order to bring about socially
responsible citizens. It aims to impart comprehensive legal education including
distant and continuing legal education at all levels to achieve excellence. The
rigorous teaching methodology has an objective to promote cultural, legal and
ethical values enshrined in the Constitution of India.

With in a short span of its establioshment the University has established a well-resourced Library developed by a team of qualified professional Library staff. The entire ground floor of the Academic block of the University has been dedicated for the Library has ben divided into four major sections, the Reference Section, the Periodical Section, the General Section and the Technical Section.
RGNUL Campus has a state-of-the-art computer and internet centre. These Computers have latest configuration with LAN connectivity for Computer and Internet Centre, Faculty Members and Offices. Hostel accommodation at present has been arranged for both boys and girls at Government College of Education, Patiala at a distance of about 2 Kms from the campus.
Medical, banking and transport facilities are provided by the Institute.
The RGNUL Campus has a fitness centre, designed exclusively for the students. The gymnasium provides a great way to get fit and stay motivated.
