The course structure is articulated into two modules Ground Training
Course & Flying Training Course.
In Ground Training Course the candidates are taught theoretical ground
training
subjects required for acquiring Students/Private /Commercial Pilots License. The
duration of this course is two months. Explained below is the structure of both
the modules-
Module – One
Meteorology
General Navigation
Mass & Balance
Flight Planning
Communication
Flight Instruments
Human Performances
Module – Two
Aircraft General Knowledge
Principle of Flight
Air Law & Regulations
Operations
Radio Navigation
Performances
Human Performances
The Flying training course incorporates total of five modules which are
explained in detail below-
Private Pilots License: Obtaining a Private Pilots License is the first
step
towards becoming a Commercial Pilot. In order to achieve this license,
candidates are required to clear tests under the airplane category and other
compulsory topics like air law, navigation, and meteorology among others. This
test includes approximately 45 hrs of dual flying, 20 hrs. of solo flying, and
05 hours of simulator flying along with requisite hours of ground training.
After successfully clearing this examination, candidates become eligible to
appear for the Commercial Pilots License.
Flying Training: Under this phase of training, a trainee pilot has to fly a
minimum of 200 hours, including 100 hours of solo flying. The initial 100 hours
of flying is performed under the supervision and assistance of a flying Training
Instructor on board of the aircraft. It is only after the completion of this
initial 100 hours that the trainee pilots starts their solo flying training for
the remaining100 hours. It covers the total flying hours needed for students
flying License, Private Pilots License, Commercial Pilots License and Flight
Radio Transmission Operators License as per the customary norms set by the
Director General of Civil Aviation.
Simulator Flying Training: This course module integrates the knowledge
which the
candidates have acquired during the prior sessions and employs them using a
turbine powered Flight Simulator in a multi-crew environment. Trainee pilots
learn how to handle various mechanisms of the aircraft in different situations
in a virtual condition without actually flying an airplane. The training on
simulator is for total of 25 hours. Students are trained on the below mentioned
subjects-
• Handling of Multi-crew jet
• Approaches and go around
• Loss of communication
• Evacuation
• Airlines SOP
• Departure, Approach & Landing
• Route change scenario
• Ground operation scenario and so on.
Instrument Ratings Flying: A trainee pilot has to accomplish at least 35
duel
flying
Hour. This module includes concepts and procedures of instrument and weather
flying, IFR procedures, regulation, radio navigations and instrument approaches.
Commercial Pilots License: After completing the flying and ground
training
courses, students have to give a test for the Commercial Pilots License of the
country where they are doing the course. After the successful completion of this
test, trainee pilots will be awarded the Commercial Pilots License of the
country where they are doing the course.
