The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) has been established in association of the Bar Council of India. The Government of Kerala constituted this University by merging the erstwhile National Institute for Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS) which was started in 2002 and Bar Council of Kerala Trust.
NUALS provides about 40 to 50 subjects with one-third of them providing wide variety of options to the students of the 5 years LL.B Course. The students are required to write projects in each subject and are asked to involve in extension activities like legal aid services, clinical projects like woman and law, media and the law, environment and so on. Placement for a period of at least one month every year may be resorted to, by the University as an important component of the course. Special subjets undertaken by the students include Science and Law, Medical Jurisprudence, Law and Medicine, Law and Forensic Science. Socially significant subjects...

NUALS'S library is enriched by the acquisition of latest books and journals keeping in pace with the need of the changing times. With significant contributions from the the Bar Council of Kerala, the library has enlarged significantly in a short span of three years.
The Library has subscribed to the electronic database of Supreme Court Cases and All India Reporter (Supreme Court). It also possesses he back volumes of All India Reporter, Supreme Court Cases, Criminal Law Journal, AIR Manual, Complete Digest of Supreme Court Cases, Harvard Law Review, Law Quarterly Review and Britannica Encyclopedia. The various national and international journals that the library is subscribing to are:

  • Journal of Indian Law Institute

The University provides advanced computer facilities to the students including online search and printing. The other available facilities availed to its students are:

  • A full fledged Canteen is functioning in the campus
  • Photo Copy facilities are provided to students
  • Moot Court Society, Legal Aid Clinic, Law and Economic Forum, Debate and Seminar Forum, and Law and Society Forum are functioning under the guidance of
  • Teachers. O.H.P and Slide projectors are provided in the classrooms.
  • Separate Hostels are provided for Boys and Girls.
