Aerospace Engineering is concerned with the science and practice of air and space flight, the design, development, testing and production of aerospace vehicles, the maintenance and operation of aircraft and in aerospace research. The major areas of aerospace engineering activities are:

  • Design and development - aircraft, spacecraft and components, aerospace systems and software
  • Manufacturing - production, computer-aided manufacture and software, quality control
  • Operations - managing the use of aircraft or spacecraft
  • Maintenance - planning, preventative systems, airworthiness monitoring
  • Future planning and equipment procurement - market research, cost studies, product specification, overseeing of production and commissioning
  • Standards - design, airworthiness and air safety

Entry Requirements

:

International students must fulfill the English language requirements for entry to the university. UNSW recognizes a number of English Language tests which can be undertaken to meet the University’s English language requirements. The test must have been undertaken no more than two years prior to the commencement of the program at UNSW. The candidates must fulfill one of the following entry requirements:

  • IELTS-An overall minimum score of 6.5 is required, together with a minimum score of at least 6.0 in each of the sub-tests of listening, reading, speaking and writing
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - Internet based test Applicants must achieve an overall minimum score of 90, with a minimum in Writing of 24
  • TOEFL - Computer test Applicants must achieve an overall minimum score of 233, with a minimum in Essay rating of 5.0
  • TOEFL - Applicants must achieve an overall minimum score of 577 with a minimum score of 5.0 in the TWE in the paper-based format
  • UNSW Institute of Languages University English Entry Course - The UEEC is the UNSW Institute of Languages English Entry Course - a 10-week intensive English Language program. The minimum acceptable score is completion of the UEEC with a grade of C+ (grade point 7.0) and with a minimum score of at least 20 in the writing component
