You will be considered for admission to the University of Sydney if you meet our minimum eligibility criteria. The offer of a place also depends upon the number of places available and the quality of those competing for a place.
For a list of undergraduate courses offered to international students, see the undergraduate programs and fees table. For information on how to apply for admission, see admission and enrolment. In general your application will require an acceptable academic qualification from your high school studies (or equivalent) demonstrated English language competency (see English language entry requirements). English language test results must be less than 2 years old. Entry grades required for admission, including some non-Australian qualifications, are listed in undergraduate courses. Entry requirements are also usually detailed on the relevant faculty or department Web pages, and (generally) in each faculty Handbook. For some courses, you are required to meet additional selection criteria such as audition or an interview. See details under the course name in the list of undergraduate courses. Health and security checks are also required for some courses involving fieldwork in the New South Wales hospital system and education system. More information is available here. You can also check the Faculty websites for more details. If you are applying on the basis of qualifications obtained in another country, your application will be assessed for its equivalence to Australian tertiary entry standards. You may also need to sit an English proficiency test (see below). The grades required for some common non-Australian qualifications are listed in undergraduate courses. The University also recognises a number of other international secondary qualifications from individual countries. For information about other non-Australian qualifications not listed on these pages, contact one of the University's representatives in your country, or contact the International Office. If you are facing difficulties with English, either in the classroom or during coursework, academic staff will recommend remedial assistance. You will be expected to use this assistance so that you can perform well and communicate effectively with peers, teachers, school pupils and parents. If you do not hold any of the above qualifications and you need to improve your standard of English before a degree course, English courses are available at the Centre for English Teaching (CET). If you wish to transfer to an undergraduate program at the University of Sydney from another university or gain credit for your previous study, you can apply for advanced standing or credit. Advanced standing allows you to enter directly into senior units of study but does not reduce the number of units you take in your course. Credit reduces the number of units you take in your course at Sydney. Credit may be granted for approved units of study or for years of study. However, it is usually based on units of study. Students who will be under 18 years of age when they enter Australia to study must show that they have made appropriate accommodation and general welfare arrangements. This may include nominating a guardian. Level:Bachelors Mode:Full Time Medium:Campus Type:Degree Duration:36 months
