The Tver State Medical Academy has been recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education to train medical professionals for foreign countries, having highly professional teaching staff. Teaching methodology include practical classes, lectures, laboratory studies, research work and auxiliary services.

The Medical Faculty is based mainly in the Regional Clinical Hospital and Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology are affiliated to the city hospitals, and maternity homes. Modern diagnostics, such as ultrasound, laser surgery, pass-by surgery, and treatment by haemodialysis are carried out in these hospitals. Foreign scientists and medical consultants from countries such as the United States, Germany, Canada, Great Britain and other countries are invited to lecture at the Academy.
