Established in 1906, the Universal College of Learning (UCOL) is a government funded Institute of Technology that offers a host of vocational programs. Initially, it used to only offer apprenticeship courses meant for the trading sector, classes for craft, hobby and arts, as well as night school programs in business studies for working adults. But, with support from the Government of New Zealand the institute has started offering a diverse range of courses and programs. However, vocational programs still remain as its spotlight. Currently, it provides Post-graduate programs, Degrees, Diplomas, Foundation and Certificate programs, as well as a host of community-based programs.

The polytechnic has three campuses, all of which are located in the lower North Island of New Zealand. The names of the campuses are Masterton, Palmerston North and Whanganui . All the educational programs of UCOL are accredited by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA). What...

One of the campuses of UCOL is in Palmerston North. Located in the vibrant student area, this campus offers something for every student. In fact, the Palmerston campus has become an architectural landmark in the city. In 2004, a childcare facility was opened in this campus to be used by the students, faculty members, as well as the general public.
