Biological systems engineering "brings engineering to life." It leads to rewarding careers working with living systems and the environment. Students focus on one of three areas: biomedical engineering, bioprocess engineering, or environmental and water resources engineering. The program provides a broad, flexible engineering background with a biological emphasis. It also features communications skills, team-work, hands-on experiences, computer-aided design and problem-solving.
