The University of Bedfordshire is one of the foremost student destination in UK which provides innumerable career option. In 2006, there was a merger of the University of Luton and DMU’s Bedford campus which resulted in the creation of the University of Bedfordshire. The University was ranked 28th in the UK National Student Survey and has recently witnessed a 41.2 % rise in the number of applicants and is one of the major providers of undergraduate, postgraduate and professional diplomas and degrees in the region. On the basis of the their popularity, NSS  ranked Journalism at 5th, Law at 7th, Business at 15th and Marketing studies at 16th in the country.

The University was ranked 28th in the UK National Student Survey and has recently witnessed a 41.2 % rise in the number of applicants and is one of the major providers of undergraduate, postgraduate and professional diplomas and degrees in the region. Bedfordshire climbed up six places in The Guardian's teacher training league table and was ranked 30th in the country. It again climbed up six places in The Sunday Times ranking and achieved 98th position. The University has invested millions of pounds in its infrastructure and facilities and has been innovative enough to provide Business Pods to its students for the first time in the UK. £8m PE and Sport Science Centre is well-equipped to train athletes for 2012 Olympics.  Student can accommodate themselves in the  University's  500 en-suite study bedrooms.

There is a 280-seat theatre and dance studios in the Campus Centre along with workout areas, areas to relax and socialize, meeting rooms and a Costa coffee café. The University curriculum has been designed in conjunction with the industry employers, forging close links with more than 5,000 UK companies and providing professionally accredited programs and trainings to the students. The University claims of seven ‘excellent’ scores from the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) and many of its teacher training courses have 100 per cent graduate employment rate.

With emphasis on applied research, the quality standards of its research work is recognized at a regional and national level. Besides the acclaimed research in Climate Change and Applicable Computing, studies on health policy, organizational development and organ donation issues have earned international recognition. 16,000 students from more than 100 countries are enrolled in the three campuses in Luton and Bedford and educational centers at the hospital sites offering health courses throughout Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Bedford has eight Research Institutes and the staff strength is strong at 1,200. While students may avail the facilities at Luton and Bedford campuses, the hospital sites are linked via video conferencing facilities. All the educational sites in hospitals have a University Education Centre that has an IT centre, library and seminar rooms.
