The University of Liverpool, established in 1881, is one of the oldest civic universities in the UK. It is also the first in the world to establish a School of Tropical Medicine in 1899 and the first departments of Architecture, Biochemistry and Civic Design were opened here. The University is a part of the prestigious Russell Group, an association of 20 major research-intensive universities in the UK. In 1884, it became part of the federal Victoria University. Following a Royal Charter and Act of Parliament in 1903, it became an independent University, called the University of Liverpool, with the right to confer its own degrees. The University has produced eight Nobel Prize winners and today has more than 230 first degree courses across 103 subjects being instructed to the students.

The University possesses a highly advanced infrastructure which houses more than 2,000 students from 122 countries. It is very conviniently located at Liverpool, UK and is easily accessible from across the country.
