Beginning in 1796, the University of Strathclyde was a realization of John Anderson's (founder and professor of Natural Philosophy at Glasgow University) vision of developing a center of education -- a university open to everyone. Presently, Strathclyde is the third largest university in Scotland. The university offers its students a flexible and innovative learning environment. Its own campus village is situated right in the heart of Glasgow. It has a strength of over 1,440 students while 500 more live in the accommodation provided by the university, much of it being in the fashionable Merchant City.
