A General Practitioner is responsible for treating chronic illnesses in children and adults of both sexes besides providing preventive care and health education. Common surgeries like appendectomies, tonsillectomies and hernia repairs are also undertaken by GPs. The courses curriculum is as follows:

Preceptorships are mandatory during the study period. They are intensive clinical learning experiences under the direction of physician preceptors at off-campus clinical settings.
